This project included a comprehensive inspection of the Roosevelt Island Bridge over the East River, and the Borden Ave and Hunters Point Bridges over Dutch Kills. Single beam scanning technology was used to survey the underwater elements of the bridges and their surrounding mudlines prior to the dive inspection. This allowed the dive team to identify potential structural defects and environmental hazards, allowing for a safer inspection despite poor water quality and strong currents. The dive team was able to verify and elaborate on the condition of the bridges to supplement the scans. A complete report with processed scans, photos (where applicable), condition tables, and repair recommendations was provided to the client.
