Coastal's commercial divers initially performed an exploratory dive at Lionshead Lake Dam to locate the inlet of the existing low-level outlet. We then returned to perform an underwater inspection of the dam using both in-water divers and a remote operated crawler with video system.
Our dive team first cleared rip-rap from the intake and removed the existing trash rack using ultrathermic cutting equipment. We then installed temporary cut bars to prevent rip-rap from falling into the chamber. A steel bulkhead was used to prevent water flow, and the inspection was then performed using a 2022 Envirosight Rovver X. 23 individual joints were inspected and a report was provided that included tabular condition tables, conclusions, and recommendations along with digital video.
