Marine Construction - Cofferdam Repair
Coastal performed underwater repairs to the stone-filled cofferdam spanning Hidden Valley Lake in Vernon, NJ. The cofferdam was in place as part of a major rehabilitation project of the lake’s earthen dam and concrete spillway. The cofferdam was an essential part of the rehab, retaining water upstream to allow for the dam and spillway to be breached and reconstructed in a dry environment. The previously installed cofferdam began to fail as construction was already underway, and Coastal was contacted to provide an emergency solution. Due to the poor construction, most of the original cofferdam had to be removed and replaced. Our dive team worked around the clock to restore the cofferdam to working order, allowing rehab project to continue with little time or progress lost.
